Exciting Holographic Nail Polish Haul :D

Hello beautiful,

I'm so excited to proudly own these holographic nail polishes. I just received them yesterday, though I've placed my order like a couple weeks ago. I purchased these Layla Hologram Effect nail polish from Hautelook. They were on sale for $9.00 each and they included a nail buffer with each polish. Apparently, based on the reviews I read, the buffer is supposed to make the application of these polishes smoother and better. I suppose I could use my own nail buffer but these polishes were not sold individually on Hautelook so I didn't have a choice. The reason I jumped on this purchase is because these polishes are supposedly linear holos, which is something I still don't own in my stash. Secondly, they are typically priced at around $15-16 so that was a pretty awesome discount! The swatches I've googled literally had me drooling over them so being able to get them for almost half the price was a deal too good to miss.

On the side note, do you notice anything different about the pictures cause I sure do! I've decided to snap these pictures with my 50mm f/1.4 lens and wow I'm amazed at the sharpness and bokeh.

Here are the shades that I purchased:
  • Flash Black
  • Jade Groove
  • Mercury Twilight
  • Ocean Rush
  • Mermaid Spell

You can be sure that I will be posting swatches of these beauties as soon as possible.
By the way, after the fact that I had already place my order for the Layla Hologram polishes, I was browsing for holographic nail polish swatches and discovered that Color Club had recently come out with a fantastic linear holo collection as well called Halo Hues. I was really close to purchasing the entire collection, lol, but I talked myself out of it because I haven't even tried these Layla Hologram yet, smh. Anyhoo, if that peaks your interest, you can actually purchased the entire Halo Hues collection from Amazon for $49.75, and that includes 6 full size nail polishes. A better deal than these Layla holos, actually. Definitely google up their swatches because they look flipping AMAZING! If I haven't bought the Layla holos, I would've snagged that set in a heartbeat. Lastly, I don't know about you guys but one thing always lead to another when I browse the Internet. If the Halo Hues set is too much for your budget, this may be a good cheaper alternative but don't quote me on it just yet until I've tested it out and give you my official approval. I was able to get this full size linear holographic topcoat for from Ebay for merely $6 (plus $2 shipping). I was pleasantly surprised when I received it because it looks extremely holo in the bottle. It really is jam packed with holos so I'm pretty happy about that. Apparently, you can use this over any color and turn that color into a holo, which makes it very economical and versatile for those who are on a budget. With that said, I will be swatching this holo topcoat and compare it to the Layla Hologram and let you know what would be the best bang for your buck.

Do you own any linear holographic nail polish? If so which brand do you have and what do you think of it?
