Urban Decay Book Of Shadows IV - First Impression & Swatches

I'm sure that by now, you've probably heard, read reviews, and seen many swatches and pictures of this palette. So I'm not going to give you a full review but just a general first impression and show you some swatches.

I initially wasn't too excited about this palette because:
  1. It cost $64.00 and included items I didn't need such as USB cord, speaker, primer, and mascara. Nice to have but not something I personally need.
  2. Half of these shades were neutrals and I have so many neutral colors already.
  3. There are repeat colors and permanent colors that you may already have if you own other UD palettes or single eyeshadows such as Midnight Cowgirl, Sin, Midnight Rodeo, Cobra, Baked, and Gunmetal.
  4. Basically, I only found half of this palette appealing.
The reason I bought this was because I got was able to get it for $29.00, which as a steal compared to the original price! Details on this post.

Sheer pigmentation: Blue Bus and Crystal.

Final thought
  • If you are more of a neutral girl, you might like that half of these colors are neutrals with the options of having some colors for days you want a little extra.
  • You might enjoy this palette even more if you haven't tried their primer potion, mascara, or liquid eyeliner.
  • The packaging is pretty but bulky.
  • Most of these eyeshadows are excellent and have good color payoff.
  • If you already own a few of the UD palettes, you may find repeat colors, which can be annoying.
  • This palette is pricy at regular price but still a good value. If you can get this on sale, even better.
  • My favorites: the primer, the 24/7 waterproof liquid liner, and Hijack. The rest as ok.
  • Overall, if you like the colors in this palette then, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

    1. It's nice to have but I think the previous BOS looked better.
